Google STEP intern is an opportunity for those students who are currently pursuing their graduation in computer science or related fields. During this internship, the students get the chance to work in the different offices of Google across India.
What does Google STEP internship mean?
Google STEP internship is a summer internship for students who are currently pursuing B. Tech with a major in Computer Science or other related Fields. STEP is also known as Software STEP which means Software Student Traning in Engineering Program. As it is a summer internship, it starts in May every year.
The duration of this program is 12 weeks and during this period the students get an opportunity to work in different offices of Google across India which include Banglore, Pune & Hyderabad. During this internship period, the students get real-life industrial exposure and knowledge.
And sometimes if the organizations find any candidate useful for them they also give the offer letter to work with them permanently. Along with that, the students get certificates that can boost their CVs and they get a stipend also.

Minimum Qualifications for a Google STEP Intern
The minimum criteria or qualification which is mandatory for all is the student should be in the 2nd year or more than that of their graduation and they must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and internship or any other related technical field.
The students must be fluent in communicating in English and have a better understanding and experience in any one general-purpose programming language. They must have to be flexible to work at any of the offices of Google as it is not going to be a work-from-home internship.
Preferred Qualifications for a Google STEP Internship 2024
The preferred criteria or qualification that is favorable by Google is the student should be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship. Keep in mind that the student should be in the 2nd year or more than that of their Graduation.
The Google Step Intern should have excellent programming skills and the preferred programming languages are Python, C++, Java, etc. The student should have the ability to complete a full-time program, 10-12-week internship between May and August 2024 (exact program dates will be provided at a later point in the process).
